Whmis Safety Training Course
PURPOSE OF THE COURSE:
The Workplace hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) provides health and safety information about hazardous products in the workplace. Employers must use this information, as well as information specific to their workplaces, to educate and train workers to work safely with and near hazardous products.
Whmis training course is the result of the adoption of the Globally Harmonized System. The GHS enables Canada to use the same United Nations standards of classifying hazardous products and communicating those hazards. In Canada, GHS does NOT replace WHMIS. The WHMIS 2015 update aligns Canada with GHS elements.
As of December 1, 2018, all manufacturers, importers, distributors and employers must use WHMIS 2015 labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS’s) for all hazardous products in the workplace. Consequently, all workers now need WHMIS 2015 training.
Students must achieve a minimum 80% passing grade on a closed book exam earn certification in this course.
