Respirator Fit Test (Hybrid)

Our Respirator Fit Test course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills in the selection, safe use, maintenance, and documentation involved with respiratory protective equipment.

The training consists of an online training followed by an in-person User Seal Check and Qualitative Fit Test.

Upon successful completion, the participant will have the knowledge and skills necessary to perform a User Seal Check on themselves and use respiratory protection in a safe and effective manner.

A Respiratory Fit Test is valid for 1 year for the same make and model as the equipment recorded on the Respiratory Fit Test record, and must be re-done if the equipment changes or certificate expires.

This training is compliant with CSA-Z94.4-18 (Selection, use, and care of respirators).

What level of English do my workers or I need to have to attend the course?

All students attending our courses should have a minimum of B2 English reading, speaking, and listening abilities. If you or your workers have limited English comprehension, your company will need to arrange for a translator to be present at the class.

You can also reach out to our team for a custom solution.

Do I need to bring any equipment to the class?

A personal half or full-face mask will be required for the User Seal Check and Qualitative Fit Test - it must be clean and in good condition. Unfit equipment will not be allowed and will delay completion of the course. New equipment may be acquired from True North Safety if needed.

How long does the certificate last for?

Upon passing the course, the certificate will be valid for 1 year. This is the industry standard duration for Respirator Fit Test training renewal.
